Front of Barn

Pics before reconstruction of the barn began from 1980-1983.

Note how the posts on the inside picture below lean towards the front. The front wall was leaning out about two feet.

After the death of JC Adams in 1913 the barn stayed in the family until 1920 when the ranch was sold to Fred Woehner. In 1940 the Christensen family purchased the ranch and in 1973 the place was purchased by Harold Poulsen. The barn continued to be used as working barn until 1979 when the Dracut Junction Stone Barn Company was formed and recieved the barn for historic preservation. Also in 1979 the barn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Renovations that started in 1980 have restored the roof, the leaning front wall, and the original almost life-sized sheet metal horse has been currently replaced by a copy. In May of 2008 the barn underwent more work to reshingle the roof. Inside of Barn
